Professor Errol Miller

Errol L. Miller has been Professor of Teacher Education in the Institute of Education, UWI, Mona since January 1981. He is a former Principal of Mico Teachers’ College, Past President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and, an Independent Senator in the Jamaican Parliament from1984-89.

Sir Clifford Campbell

Sir Clifford Campbell ON GCMG GCVO KStJ (1892 – 1991) was a Jamaican educator and politician who served as speaker of the House and President of the Senate. In 1962, after Jamaica achieved independence, he was appointed as the first Jamaica-born Governor-General. He was educated at Petersfield Elementary School and Mico Teachers’ College.

Sir Howard Cooke

Sir Howard Cooke ON CD GCMG GCVO KStJ (1915 – 2014) served as the 4th Governor-General of Jamaica. He attended The Mico and then London University. Cooke was a teacher for 23 years, President of the Jamaica Union of Teachers, and a Headmaster. He was a founder of the PNP, a MP, Senator, Minister and President of the Senate (from 1989 to 1991).
