Jamaica’s sprinting legacy continues to shine on the international stage, and this time, a proud Miconian was at the heart of the triumph! Rasheed Foster anchored Jamaica to victory in the Mixed 4×100 Metres Relay at the World Athletics Relays Guangzhou 2025. He is also a standout student in The Mico University College’s Physical Education and Sport Department

In a thrilling final, Foster teamed up with Natasha Morrison, Krystal Sloley, and Javari Thomas to clock an impressive 41.04 seconds, edging out Great Britain (41.05) and China (41.30) in one of the most exciting finishes of the championships.

Foster, who departed Jamaica just days ago to represent the national team, carried with him a track record of excellence that speaks to both his talent and hard work. He is the reigning 2024 and 2025 INTERCOL 100 Metres Champion, as well as the 2025 Penn Relays 100 Metres Champion and a key member of Jamaica’s victorious Penn Relays 4×100 Metres Relay team earlier this year.

The victory in Guangzhou is another remarkable milestone in what has already been a decorated career for the young sprinter. His performance not only highlights Jamaica’s continued dominance in sprinting but also underscores The Mico University College’s proud tradition of producing world-class athletes.

As news of his achievement spreads across campus, the Mico family celebrated Rasheed’s dedication, discipline, and determination. His success on the international stage serves as a powerful reminder to his peers and the wider community that with hard work and belief, greatness is within reach.

Rasheed has done The Mico and Jamaica proud!
