Yesterday marked the conclusion of our journey as the Commissioners of External Relations for The Mico University College Guild of Students. Today, we proudly pass the torch to the incoming Guild leadership, confident that they will continue to build on the foundation we have laid.

On behalf of the outgoing External Relations Office, we extend our deepest gratitude for the unwavering support we have received throughout our tenure. To our guild supervisor, committee secretaries, committee members, fellow Guild Council colleagues, and every Miconian who supported or benefitted from our initiatives—thank you. Your contributions, participation, and encouragement made our work meaningful and impactful. It has truly been an honour to serve.

Over the past year, we have worked diligently to strengthen student experiences, create meaningful connections, and extend The Mico’s reach beyond its walls. From fostering partnerships to enhancing events, our goal was always to bridge the gap between The Mico and the wider world.

Highlights of Our Achievements:

  • Partnered with Postage Logistics Group on a series of initiatives including Postage Day, social media campaigns, a Postage Pop-Up during Mico Week, and the Business Expo.
  • Hosted Jamaica Post during our Breast Cancer Balloon Release, giving students the opportunity to send letters of hope and support to survivors and their families.
  • Convened the first-ever Cross-Guild Meeting with student leaders from Shortwood Teachers’ College and Northern Caribbean University.
  • Organized a Valentine’s Business Expo, featuring 17 student-run small businesses and external partners such as Postage Logistics, TABS Jamaica, and Sagicor.
  • Executed a Practicum Giveaway, distributing over 100 packages to 4th-year students embarking on their Reflective Practicum Part B.
  • Represented The Mico at the Caribbean Maritime University Business Expo.
  • Launched the Guild Wishlist Initiative, securing sponsorship for multiple programmes and events, including:
    • Batch 187’s Practicum Supplies Giveaway (Postage Logistics)
    • The Welfare Committee’s Exam Breakfast Programme and Hall Giveaway Initiative
    • The Mr. and Miss Mico Pageant (Director of Clubs and Societies)
    • Guild Fest 2025
    • Batch 189’s Easter Bun and Cheese Giveaway
    • Support for all five House Captains for Sports Day 2025

These initiatives reflect our commitment to service, partnership, and student empowerment. We are proud of what we accomplished together with you.

As the new Guild Council begins its tenure, we offer our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes. May you continue this journey with passion, vision, and purpose, carrying forward the legacy of student leadership at The Mico.

To the Mico family—thank you for giving us the privilege to serve.
